Sunday I headed out to Fontucky to get some pictures of the Cal State DH race.  It was nice to be able to take pictures again, though I felt like I was pushing it a bit.

 

I tried to be selective with the picture taking and not wear myself out.  I basically just snapped the The Path, Bike Co, Incycle, Hutchinson and folks I saw riding 7Points.

 

It was nice to see my class come rolling though.  Once the preteen beginners passed me by on their first run, I packed it up and called it day.

 

There were lots crashes in practice near the section I was watching.  I saw poor Waylon Smith charge through the difficult section only to get bucked when he was almost through it.  He went over the bars and landed on a descent sized rock.  He got up and chucked the rock down the hill.  He was fine, but packed it in.

 

I also heard “The Wall” was not part of the course.

Oh man, did I ever feel like an idiot trying to get going again! My second run was much better, but I never got through that section well. I've got some frustrating old habits I'm having a hard time getting rid of.

The new bike sure feels good, but A LOT different than the Uzzi.
