Today Lacey and I went up to Running Springs for the Rim Nordic final race of 06'.
The course today seemed a bit shortter than the usual 7.5 miles, but still just as fun! Which was just as well for me since I'd brought the STINKY to race XC on! Yeah, there's nothing like showing up to a XC race on a 39 lb. bike.![Surprise [:O]](/CS/emoticons/emotion-3.gif)
Ben Mesa of the Jose Ol'e team showed up to race the Beg. Clydesdale class with me, after missing the last race with a knee injury. It didn't seem to slow him down much!
He finished with a time of 53 minutes, while I finished at 54. That's better than the last time we raced, and he kick my butt by 4 minutes!

Lacey just plain tore it up today!
By herself again in her age group, she still finished ahead of all but one of the older Beg. Women, and finished ahead of most of the Beg. Boys. Lacey finished with a time of 59 minutes. That's right, just 5 mins behind dear ol' Dad! Oh yeah, I'd better mention that she CRASHED!
That's right! She crashed, hard enough to break her plastic number plate in two, and still just finished 5 mins behind me!

Lacey swept the series, only racing one other girl in her age group at the second race, to take home the 1st place overall.

The last few races she'll be doing are all part of the Cal. State series. For now she leads in the point standings, but there is a race comming up in Santa Barbara that she's going to miss. It could all come down to the Big Bear races, and then the Finals in Castaic in October. I just tell her......."YOU CAN DOOO ITTT"!!!
A BIG thanks goes out to The Warriors Society, and Cliff Products, for getting Lacey compped for the Rim Nordic series. To Mark M. at HOSS MTB http://www.hossmtb.com/ and Tani and ALL of you guys at The Path http://thepathbikeshop.com/ you know there's a whole lot of Maxwell love going out to you guys!!![Coffee [C]](/CS/emoticons/emotion-44.gif)
